Faith integration #3 Our bodies are walking talking breathing illustrations of the one and many. Each body part, arms, legs, eyes, nose, and ears form a part of our body and it is easy to understand that the members of the body are many and diverse, but our body is one. We need each bit of our body to function properly. Just lose a bit for a little while. Of course, a person can still live without a leg, arm, or eye. But it is not the ideal, not how we would like to live but if this is what God wants then the whole body, the whole person will have to simply readjust. Now, cells come in many shapes and sizes. Some cells are covered by a cell wall, other cells are not, some have slimy coats or elongated structures that push and pull them through their environment. Some cells have a thick layer surrounding their cell. This layer is called the capsule and is found in bacteria cells. In our body there are many different kinds of cells. We are made up of about 200 different types of cells. Our body also has non- living materials such as hair, finger nails, and the hard part of the bone and teeth. All these materials are made up of dead cells and the great part is that God made us all so perfect. Like our physical appearance is nothing compared to what goes on inside of our bodies because any little mistake and things can go horribly wrong.
