A group, the Men, uses one of Young's five faces of oppression, cultural imperialism. The men think they're superior due to the idea of being dominant and the women are submissive. Even now, men still use jokes --that are actually insults to the women-- such as "You throw like a girl," "women belong in the kitchen," including all the other sexist jokes found in http://www.laughfactory.com/jokes/sexist-jokes. Plenty of these jokes imply that men are higher of quality and are more valuable in life.
