Every people have different point of view about independency. Some people think independency is control of your own life and your own choices. While other people believe being independent is learning to support yourself which is important for any success you ever hope to achieve. The theme of leaving home to become individual or independent is the important one in stories "Zelzah: A Tale From Long Ago" by Norma Fox Mazer and the story " Dawn " written by Tim Wynne-Jones. While first author argues that leaving home is proving individual person's ability and difficulties, second author suggests that leaving home is finding the truth about real life in individual. This story is about the 13 years old boy Barnsey who traveled to her grandma in bus seating next to weird girl Dawn which he never wants to be with. An example related to this is " What if i have to sit beside someone weird the whole way?". In other words Barnsey did not like people who is stranger. Barnsey was first time on his own and he is afraid from this situation. We could see the provement in sentence when the author sayed " say something about how they had always encouraged him to be independant". This means his parents are preparing him to learn to face the truth behind the walls on his own. The author wants reader to see how does meeting Dawn effected the Barnsey’s vision of independency through the life. Dawn is the weird girl who were dressed all in black and had hair which is symbolized the meaning of her name and the meaning of her life. At the beginning Barnsey didn't really like her but later on he felt more safe and independent with Dawn. In fact author is demonstrated that ” Through the swirling blizzard they could see lots of trucks and cars in the lot “. In another words swirling blizzard is represents the cruelty of life and the cars behind the bus are the difficulties and problems that individual person forced to face. Also when I read this story it reminded me the phrase people judge
