We shouldn’t celebrate Zheng He’s voyages due to the misuse of resources, unsuccessful expeditions, and lost connections.
The government wasted their time, money, and goods on his journey. The 27,364 crew members and 255 ships that’s displayed in document C were even deemed a mistake by a Qin Dynasty citizen, “They did not make up for the wasteful expenditures of the Middle Kingdom” (Doc D). During this time, China was at war, and they could’ve been using their budget to pay for their losses, yet it was disregarded at sea. The consequences of their unnecessary preparation for travel and establishment took its toll in the form of bankruptcy.
