There is a problem with the waters of chesapeake bay and the rivers that connect to it. A Lot of pollution and runoff from many animals and farms go into these waters. All the chemicals from these types of pollution are killing off the grass and all of the algae.
There are roles that the algae play in the water and on land. Some algae provide oxygen for the water and land. Fish need the algae for the oxygen that is made in the water, but that is only the beginning. Algae is a key source of food for zooplankton along with the bay grasses. Zooplankton filter feed the water but that is not enough for them so they eat the algae. On the other hand the zooplankton are the source of food for many animals, including oysters. What is weird is that oysters filter feed as well but yet the somewhat eat zooplankton. With the Algae, zooplankton, and oysters filter feeding that is still not enough to keep the bay clean.

Fish eat oysters to get their food but they are still in danger. Fish provide a major source of food for the people near the Chesapeake bay area. With many fish dying people will lose their way of life. With all of the algae that is being poisoned, this could have many bad effects on the bay. If the algae is completely killed off then the food chain will slowly dissipate. This means that the zooplankton will die off and the the water will become cloudy and nasty. The after the plankton die next will be the oysters, the same thing will happen to them, and the fish will die faster. That is because there is nothing trying to stop the pollution and nothing is filter feeding.Chesapeake Bay used to be a great fishing spot and it also was the source of food for many animals and
