Who is Zora Neale Hurston and Dan Brown, I have no idea who they are and what they did for American Literature. After watching the I found out that Zora Neale Hurston was a American novelist, short story writer, plays, folklorist and anthropologist. Hurston is best known for her novel Their Eyes Were Watching God. “Women forget all those things they don’t want to remember, and remember everything they don't want to forget. The dream is the truth, then they act and do accordingly.” Hurston was deeply interested in the Harlem Renaissance. Hurston was born January 7, 1891 and die January 28,1960. Dan Brown is an American novelist, who is best known for his novel The De Vinci Code. Dan Brown farther is a math teacher and mother is very religious. In the video about Hurston I learned that her outspoken and vibrant personality handed her, even though her writing were out of astounding. Hurston started out her life as a domestic worker and ended the same way. The more Hurston was involved and interested in the Harlem Renaissance, the less popular her writings became. Hurston got to work with some other great writers such as Langton Hughes. I also learned that when Hurston enrolled in school she was 26 but pretended to be 10 years younger. I learned that Brown found a balance between to science and religion; using his curiosity and inquisitive mind set as an advantage his books so explore unanswered questions about religion. These two Americans novelist find themselves stumbling over obstacles to achieve their goals but nevertheless these minutiae problems didn’t stop them.
