A 1. While working with a student on her daily reading, I discovered that her reading skills are just right in her zone of proximal development (ZPD). I determined my assumptions of her ZPD by having her read her required book she was given in her reading class, she read this book successfully without help with the exception of help with some vocabulary words. After finishing her assigned book, I had her pick a book that was about one or two levels above her reading level, off the book shelve in her classroom. I had her attempt to read this new book, she had much more trouble pronouncing words and understanding their meanings in this book. Even with my guidance she struggled to comprehend the book (I didn't make her read the whole book). As
