ISLAM IN THE MIND OF AMERICANS AND EUROPEANS
There is a widely held notion in the minds of Americans and western European alike that Islam as a term is identified with three main facets. Geographically Islam is likened to the Middle East, and followers of Islam are represented by Muslim male with violence and Muslim women with oppression.

ROOT OF ISLOMOPHOBIA:

As a result of this on-going rivalry, Europeans projected Muslims nationally and effectively globally in a negative light consequently causing many to perceive Muslims as dubious and treat them with caution.
