M1- Comparing similarities and differences between Jehovah witnesses and Islam.

Introduction-In this assignment I am going to talk about the Similarities and Differences between Islam and Jehovah’s witnesses.
Jehovah Witnesses
The Jehovah's Witnesses were founded about 140 years ago by an American, Charles T Russell, and began to be known as Jehovah's Witnesses in 1930.
Dress Code
Men have to wear suits that match and are not allowed to wear bright colours such as a suit that is pink. The women have to wear clothing that below there knee. The women are allowed to wear a little make up but are not allowed to wear trousers to watchtower.

Symbols
Jehovah has a symbol that was created by the religion founder and the watch tower symbol is for to worship Jehovah God.

Health and medical beliefs
The health and medical beliefs they have is not to have blood transfusions and are not allowed to have an abortion. Also when giving birth they are not allowed to get help with medication but only allowed to have natural birth. There are allowed to have any medication that is allowed in their religion.

Festivals and Holy days
JW’s don’t celebrate any festivals and holy days because of there religion. What they celebrate is the death of jesus which people now as easter, the way they celebrate this is by eating a special meal. . The only day that Jehovah’s witnesses reserve as special is the day in Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ died.

Food and forms of worship
The way the Jehovah witnesses worship is that they believe in the watchtower bible and go to church on Sundays. They are not allowed to eat meat that contains blood; it has to be washed out completely. They allowed eating any kind of food.

Islam
Muslims believe that Islam was revealed over 1400 years ago in Mecca, Arabia. Followers of Islam are called Muslims, and Muslims believe Islam is the religion of god and haven’t been found by humans
Dress Code
The dress code in Islam is that women have to be covered from top to bottom and the clothing should not be tight on the person. Men are allowed to wear any clothing and wear traditional clothing when praying.

Symbols
Islam has one symbol which is a star and moon that is important to the Muslims. It has the colours of white and green. The white is worn on special prayer days such as Friday prayer, Eid and Hajj. The symbol is used in the decoration of mosques and outside of the Quran.

Festivals and holydays
The festivals and holydays that Muslims celebrate are Ramadan and Eid which is celebrated at different times. Ramadan is when Muslims have to fast for 30 days and then they celebrate by celebrating Eid.

Food and forms of worship
The forms of worship they have are by praying 5 times a day and going to mosque on Fridays to pray. They can only eat Halah food and Muslims are not allowed to eat pork or carnivorous animals. All meat should be blessed i name of Allah and they have to give money to charity this is called Zakat.

Health and medical beliefs
The things that can harm your body are harm for Muslims. There are allowed to have any medication that could help them with there health. Muslims are allowed to take blood transfusions.

Similarities between Jehovah’s Witness and Islam.
Jehovah’s witnesses and Muslims have some beliefs in common. They both agree that there is one God who created the universe and is sovereign in the lives of men. They agree that God is the source of justice and morality. Muslims believes no Trinity and Jehovah’s witnesses believe no trinity either. Muslims believe that there is only one God, called Allah. Jehovah’s witnesses believe there is only one god and they call him Jehovah. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Images must not be used in worship also Muslims believe that Images must not be used in worship. Jehovah witnesses and Muslims both believe women most cover their self.
