There are many challenges in life but not as bad as moving to a new place and starting all over. The settlers came for a better life style from what the had before. They wanted to start over from scratch. Charles Town was difficult to settle because geography, disease, and resources were a major problem in Charles Town. So they overcame it by clearing the land making medicine and using resources to live. Then they stayed here because they made it a better place to live. To settle means adopt a more steady or secure style of life, especially in a permanent job and home.

But one advantage is flat land because it would be easier to grow crops and easier to travel. The land have been cleared by the indians for the desire to settle to settle because the could grow crops, travel, and build.
