People of different ethnicities should be treated as equals which means that they should be treated with egalitarianism, compassion, and respect. Everyone should be entitled to a quality of life, no matter who they may be or what their ethnicity is. In the article "14th amendment ratified," it states that " the amendment was designed to grant citizenship to, and protect the civil liberties of, recently freed slaves."
