The 1893 World Columbian Exposition often called the world’s fair was held to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ discovery of the new world. It was held in Jackson Park, Illinois just south of Chicago displayed American commerce, technology, and grandeur. Although represented all nations ethnicities, the exposition caused racial issues, it created modern American culture and influences our daily lives. The fair encompassed 633 acres of South Chicago’s Lake Michigan lakefront property. The pair acquired the construction of 200 large buildings, 100 two-tenths and many ponds, basins, and fountains.
