I have faced setbacks and ethical dilemmas in my life which helped me to learn a lot about myself and important life lessons making me the man I am today. I have bounced back from my setbacks and ethical dilemmas from being a respectable leader to being the most selfless person I can be. Although I don’t make the best decision in every situation, I do learn with sincerity and earnestness to get back up and improve myself. In particular during my junior year of high school I was faced with an ethical dilemma.
During Junior year in Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) I was fortunate to be a AS3 (3rd year cadet) flight commander. Every Wednesday we have to wear our Air Force blues and have an inspection over our uniform during our class period. My AFJROTC instructors gave me the duty of scribing for the inspection, marking down everyone’s violations during the inspection. The Instructors gave my class a few minutes to prepare for the inspection to check gig lines and other parts of the uniform. While having your Identification card (ID) is part of procedures and regulation; a cadet and also a good friend of mine in my flight came up to me saying that he had forgot his ID. I couldn’t do much to help my friend get or retrieve his ID but he asked if I could not mark him off when I scribe for my instructor during inspection.
