The Birds, which is a film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, was released in 1963. It is considered as a horror movie. The film has a lot of missing ideas, I believe the director wants the audience to think and connect the chain. I want to talk about what was happening in the world when the movie was released and how it relates to the film. I am also going to talk about the director’s opinion on what was happening in the world based on his movie, The Birds. Since the sound effects were an important innovation in the movie I will talk about it and how it affected the movie. Finally, I will compare humans and other creatures since the movie was showing that humans are having a war against the birds.

This movement made a lot of changes and affected different industries; it changed farming, technology, business, and many different fields. The birds talks about a wealthy woman, Melanie (Tippi Herder) who is a lawyer, meets a rich man in a shop, Mitch (Rod Taylor) who is also a lawyer. The man seems to know the woman but she does not have an idea who he is. After he leaves the store she decided to know who he was and does a lot of things to find him. This scene is showing the power of a female and her independency, because it is showing that a woman is capable of traveling a long road and asking people to look for a person all by her own. Nevertheless, the scene shows that when …show more content…
At the beginning of the film, when Melanie was in San Francisco, she looked at the sky and found a lot of birds flying around. In another scene, when Melanie took the boat in her way back a seagull attacked her and made her bleed. When Melanie went to Mitch’s sister’s party a birds’ attack happened there. After that, Melanie went to Mitch’s house and another massive birds’ attack happened. After watching the movie a few times, I analyzed the first scene, when there were lots of birds flying in San Francisco, as those were the disagreements to the female revolution or they were a metaphor for people who are rebutting this female movement. The movie still shows that those can do nothing in a big city and they cannot hurt her. However, when she goes to a small city the birds start to attack her and make her bleed, which mean the judgment of women’s work or role can be affected in a small town, not like when she is in a big city. To a prove this thought, in a scene after the attack a woman from the small town went to Melanie screaming and saying that everything started when Melanie came to the town and she thinks Melanie is evil, Melanie slapped the woman in the face once she said that. This scene and the birds’ attacks show that the director is disagreeing with the women’s revolution by describing Melanie as evil and linking her to the problems happening. The birds are either a metaphor for
