There is many people in this country will doubt or deny that United States was found as Christian nation. In the past there is been many attempts to destroy the legacy of Christians. There are many points and arguments that support both each facts. This country has biggest population of Christians, but this nation considers of citizens who bounded by idea and set of values. First, many of Founders fathers in this country can not be described as Christians but as Deists, people who believe that the Creator set the world to put in motion but no longer is intervenes with the world. George Washington never been publicly admitted as Christian and Jefferson was regularly attack Christians, even though both of demonstrated writing to various religious groups. It showed that America is not supporting specific religion in the country. For example, as president Washington responded to Jewish congregation in Newport, Rhode Island, to make sure that their religion will be protected. “It is now no more that toleration is spoken of as if it were the indulgence of one class of people that another enjoyed the exercise of their inherent natural rights, for, happily, the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance, requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens in giving it on all occasions their effectual support” (Kelder, Lecture #4, 18). In the end Jefferson made his own Bible and cut out any occurrences of divine communication towards humanity. “Say nothing of my religion. It is known to my God and myself alone. Its evidence before the world is to be sought in my life: it has been honest and dutiful to society, the religion which has regulated it cannot be bad one” (Nazareth, 1). Manny of our founding father were members of Christian churches, some Christians determine that the documents were maid for United States, were based on Christian’s values and principles. As time go by, a lot of Americans required to be part of the church (colonies) in order to vote or hold an office. During the document writing, Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, word “God’ refers in many occasions. Even though, non-Christians, especially Deists such as Jefferson and Paine, can use term “God”, who often resisted Christianity. Thomas Paine said, “I believe in God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life. I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy.” (Kelder, Lecture #3, 8). To interpret Deist writing is dishonesty to Christians to support Christianity. Secondly, United States always has been home to a many traditional faiths. It is always been imagined that this country to be a religious country. First Amendment of United States Constitution, Bill of Rights, clearly states that, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” This guarantees the freedom of religion but as well that any religion would be given any privileges over others. By 1833, all states had established religion from the government, providing the protection for religious liberty in states. These establishment separated church from the state, but that doesn’t go towards religion from politics and public life. Individual citizens are free to bring their own religious values into public area, but government system prohibits from favoring one religion view over…

religious diversity is here to stay, and the most interesting and important phase of our nation’s history lies ahead.
In Diane Eck’s Book, A New Religious America, she begins by acknowledging a new idea of America. She goes on to explain that traditionally in the United States, Americans have thought of religion in the United States as Christians, with politically correct superficial consideration for Jews. A new era dawned with the falling of the twin towers on September 11, 2001. Americans were forced…
True Christian Leadership
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14) This
is one of many ways that Jesus describes the bold contrast between Christians and the rest of the
world. It is a difference that should be as clear as night and day, but is this the case with
Christians in the world nowadays? The very things that Christ warned us not to become are the exact same things we are viewed as today! I believe one of the biggest reasons for the skepticism…

Founding the Nation
Colonial America progressed a great deal throughout a less than 200 year time period, going through thick and thin to form a new nation. The Spanish were the first to colonize the Americas. They used the Spanish armada, their powerful navy, to keep other countries from settling there. But the English moved in and created Jamestown. Later, the Virginia Company was established to encourage more profitable colonies. When more communities were established the settlers created the…
statement to say whether or not America was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs, I believe it’s an obvious one. The evidence is carved in marble all over Washington D.C. on our national monuments, all throughout our founding fathers personal correspondences, and even in our declaration and constitution. Majority of Americans were Christian in some form, whether it be Protestant or Catholics etc.
Many people argue the fact that our founding fathers were Christians. The 1797 Treaty of Tripoli is the…
Don’t you just love retreats? I sure do. You get away from work and school. You get loads and loads of food. You just feel really good on the inside after a retreat. But then comes the dreaded Monday. It’s back to the same old same old. You’re all hyped up from the conference or retreat, yet throughout the week, you feel your enthusiasm slowly fade away into the demands of life. Tomorrow, you go back to the real world. I’m just like you guys. I’m a senior at Forest Park High School…
for striving for an egalitarian society.
At one time or another, various small communist communities existed, generally under the inspiration of Scripture. In the medieval Christian church, for example, some monastic communities and religious orders shared their land and other property (see religious communism and Christian communism). These groups often believed that concern with private property was a distraction from religious service to God and neighbor.
Communist thought has also been traced…
between rich and poor” (Schlosser 6). In 2001 Eric Schlosser published “Fast Food Nation.” Eric Schlosser’s early 21st century muckraking text, “Fast Food Nation,” attempts to shed light on the consequences of the fast food industry on American society. The rise and growth of the fast food industry, like the meatpacking industry, illuminates the evolution of the American dream in post-World War II America. “Fast Food Nation” is a book about fast food, the values it embodies, and the world it has made…
founded on the concept of freedom of religion; this made America a safe haven for religious tolerance. During a time of religious intolerance in Europe, they immigrated to British colonies in North America because of the various opportunities for jobs and religious freedom. After the American Revolution, they then created the Articles of Confederation and after the failure of it they created the Constitution of the United States. Even though America tries to avoid having a national religion, American…
