In “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allen Poe, Fortunato has many character traits like determined, clumsy, and adventurous. Fortunato is determined when he is stubborn and wants to go to Montresor’s house. “Let us go nevertheless. The cold is merely nothing.” (Poe 374). This shows that Fortunato is determined because he’s being stubborn and telling Montresor they’re going to go to his house. Also during the story Fortunato is clumsy. Fortunato shows he’s clumsy when he constantly is having to grab onto Montresor’s arm. “He again took my arm and we proceeded.” (Poe 377).
