“The Phantom Tollbooth” by Norton Juster is about a kid named Milo traveling through the land beyond. In this journey, Milo meets the partial boy when trying to find the smallest and biggest numbers in Digitoplis. The partial boy is 0.58 of a full child and 0.58 of the average amount of children a family has. In the partial boy’s world, he uses 1.3 automobiles, he can only drive three tenths of a car, and he always has someone to play with. The partial boy isn’t a good representation of an average family’s amount of children. While the math may be correct since he’s 0.58 of a child and has 2 other siblings, it is not physically viable, and, in Milo’s world every child is whole.
