A hero is someone who helps improve the world as well as the eveyrday lives of individuals. They may have faults, but they stick to their philosophies and are rarely hypocritical. Unfortunately, Andrew Carnegie, known for his contributions to America's steel industry as well as possibly being the richest person in history, did not meet this criteria or live up to his promises. Carnegie may have made revolutionary contributions to early America's economy and industry, but the conditions under which his constituents worked were not so.
