As Jackson slowly lumbered to his new ford pick up, the sky began to turn pink, signalling night was arriving. The cool eight o’clock sundown in the small town of Pinehurst, Wyoming, population 5,000, often went hand in hand with mothers beckoning their children in for supper. Hearing mothers bells from miles away, Jackson carried his burning cigarette in one hand and the daily paper in the other. Strangely enough, this was the first time Jackson had ventured out of his house today. The effects of the previous night's activities remanded Jackson to bed for the majority of the bright, sunny day, and the rest was squandered by the mindless activities of a twenty four year old bachelor.. Jackson’s pool lights were often on ‘til wee hours of the morning, usually a consequence of a spontaneous late night visit by Rachel. One of the reasons Jackson thought he liked Rachel so much was her lack of structure, but not unmotivated, approach to life. He left the city to escape the rigorous organization of city life that could severely way a person down. Even having to take the bus every day was a routine he had to adhere to, one that he was unaccustomed to and uncomfortable with. Eggs were a go to for him, after years of refusal to cook anything intricate had led him to the perfection of sunny side up. Intent on finishing the drawing he had started the day before, Jackson took his eggs to the gazebo, pulled out his pencils, and rocked back and forth on his favorite chair as the crickets of a Wyoming night hummed away. Almost an hour later, after the remnants of egg yolk had dried on his plate and the finishing touches were put on the drawing, two sets of yellow lights slowly meandered down his front road, which meant his friends were about to
