When is one considered matured? – Sure one could be considered mentally grown when they stop playing childish games, or physically developed when their voice deepens and they no longer grow taller. One is even considered an adult on the momentous day they turn eight-teen. But maturity seems to come to everyone in its own unique way, unfortunately some are forced to mature faster than anyone would hope. In April Morning, a book written by Howard Fast that tells the accounts of a fictional fifth-teen year old boy during the Battle of Lexington and Concord, we empathize with the grown-up situations Adam Cooper finds himself in. This process of maturity is portrayed by Adam Cooper and can be compared to the maturing of the American colonies during the American Revolution, the two hold similarities such as, not being allowed any say, seeking approval and recognition, and then earning that so longed for approval. …show more content…
7). Adam struggles feeling loved by his father, who frankly doesn’t consider his smart mouthed son to be a man yet. Because of this, Adam’s father, Mosses Cooper makes all the decisions allowing Adam little to no say in anything. Which causes Adam to feel very belittled. The American colonies also felt belittled in the seventeenth and eighteenth century with Great Britain’s salutary neglect. Britain didn’t feel the colonies were “big enough” or mattered enough to be represented or allowed a say in Parliament.
