Democracy is a government ran by the people, and is immensely impacted by elections, voting, and representative systems, without these systems Americans would not have the opportunity to choose their representative to voice their opinions. The three basic principles of a democracy is representative systems, elections, and voting. Representative systems allow Americans to choose the person they want to represent them by agreeing with their stand on issues. Elections is the process a person takes to officially take part in a ballot to decide on who should be in the government system.
