Battle of the Diets Throughout my whole life, I was raised in a family where we ate meat. Growing up, I would always hear different controversies whether if it is humane or not if we kill animals for our own pleasure of eating it. As I did a little more research, I learned most people choose to either eat meat or not because of their health status, but many choose to be vegetarians because of ethical reasons likes reducing the number of animals that suffer. In a society where eating meat is most common in the western culture, is it healthier to change our diet to vegetarianism or stick to meat eating? As I was doing research on this topic, I thought about the pros and cons and to which weighed out more.

They believe animals have feelings like human, and they can feel pain, stress, and fear. Today, animals are raised different on a farm compared to fifty years ago. Now, these farms have jammed packed animals with their shoulders bumping each other to the point where they are unable to barely move an inch so that farmers could be able to produce more to make a bigger profit. Also, eating meat causes pollution by factory farming. For example, animals obviously go through defacation. Factory farms dump manure into creeks nearby which causes the death of thousands of fish. Medical experts these day say the best way to totally avoid saturated fat is to not eat meat. Studies have been found that eating meat increases the risk of getting type 2
