Be More Chill: Play Analysis

The theatre show “Be More Chill” is based on a high school, and teen life. My favorite scene was when Jeremy took the pill and Squip was there to control everything he was doing. I find that part very entertaining and funny at the same time. The Actors and actresses did a good job on performing their parts, but there were also some parts that were a bit off. There was a scene where the groups were dancing and they started to bring out the chairs. I noticed the groups had a hard time putting out the chairs on time due to having too many chairs around. There was a bit of delayed when the music started.
The clothing the characters were wearing were very simple and bland; it was just like high school students dressing up and going to class. The dress code in the play was kind of nerdy but also cool looking. The outfit the actors and actresses were wearing portrayed what their characters were really like, Jeremy’s clothing was normal with old shoes, normal blue jeans and a normal shirt. After taking the pill and the green mountain dew, Jeremy’s clothing went from being something simple to dressing up nicely with new pairs of jeans, shirts and shoes. For instance, I noticed the upper platform. It was a place where the characters gathered to dance, sing and act. I believe the platform represented the main spot light. I also noticed the couches were used multiple times during the scene. The couches were used where Jeremy and Michael hung out, the couches were like Jeremy’s own bedroom. It was also used as a place, where Jeremy and Chloe made out. Every prop on the stage is a material that the characters can rely on to do their parts. For example, the parts where Michael starts rolling out the weed, the mountain dew, the pill, the shoe box is important due to how it can make the scenes flow with the way the characters is
