Bilbo's Archetypes In The Hobbit

First, the charachter that stood out as a hero, is Bilbo Baggins or, the Hobbit. As a reader, there are copious archetypes that are eligable to fit this main attribute, but certainly the hero was a perfect label for him. Bilbo is the main focus of the book, which leads to many quotes from on about this Hobbit. One quote to show how other charachters felt about Bilbo states, “Now it is time for our esteemed Mr. Baggins, who has proved himslef a good companion on our long road, and a hobbit full of courage and resource four exceeding his size, and if I may say so possesed of good luck for exceeding the usual alllowance - now is the time for him to earn his reward.” (Tolkien, The Hobbit, pg.230) Previously, Thorin a member of the dwarves had reognized
