A drawing and a headline about a book can say so much on a story and catch the reader’s attention. Specifically, I made one on a book titled “Bless Me, Ultima” which is a story telling the tale of a healer who visits town and lives with Antonio, she teaches him things he did not know and changes his life. I made a headline explaining a short summary of what the story was about and a drawing showing a scene that the author’s imagery had me envision.

To begin with, the headline I made is titled “Healer visits a town and cures all”. I made it so that it is a short and straightforward summary of the story itself. Ultima, the healer, visits the town and word quickly spreads about her arrival. The townsfolk were terrified, fearing that she was a witch and that she brought bad vibes with her. As the story unfolds, Ultima teaches Antonio, the boy, many things and even helps him understand things a child cannot. Also, many situations come where Ultima’s healing is vital to the plot development. By the end of the story, Ultima has helped and healed many folk and changed everyone’s views. The scene shows the town and the townsfolk surrounding Ultima with torches and crosses as she ultimately dies. The more scandalous symbols on it are the crosses which at the time were used to keep witches and evil spirits away. There is a part in the story that tells us that they had Ultima walk under a cross to prove she wasn’t a witch. The torches are there for the fact that during those times, they also burned witches and in the story Ultima is threatened with being burned. The dialogue included in the picture is summarized into short words for the viewer’s purpose and has the point they are trying to make.
