Conflict is a common thing that most people are faced with. Many people may struggle with handling it, so how can one get through it? Some people result to violence, and others are more patient. Though violence is very commonly used many sources will argue that getting physical is not the answer when it comes to conflicts. The best way to respond to conflict is to stay confident, calm, and true to yourself so that you can make sure you will get the best outcome. Remaining calm, but yet optimistic throughout different bad situations will most likely result in a better outcome. In Winston Churchill’s speech “Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat” he states, ““I take up my task in buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men” …show more content…
Winston makes sure that he focuses on the goal, and his confident that he can get there. “You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs…” (Churchill 2). Another example on this is Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel was put in a concentration camp during the holocaust when he was young. In 1986 he was given the Nobel Peace Prize award due to his contributions to humanities and politics, and his speech shows a lot about how to be confident through different struggles. Wiesel focuses mainly on being yourself and not forgetting your values. He states, “Because if we forget, we are guilty, we are accomplices” (Weisel 1). Perseverance and not giving up are key components to success. Winston Churchill states how he will give everything before he gives up, hence the title “Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat”. Elie Wiesel takes a similar approach to his problems. He says that we must continue fighting until we have succeeded, and to never give up. “We must take sides...Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant” (Weisel
