The Boston Massacre was one of the many causes of the American Revolution. On March 5, 1770, British soldiers stood on guard duty patrolling the area, until when mob of colonists were surrounded the soldiers. Suddenly, one of the colonists threw a snowball at a Redcoat. Once after it was thrown a ¨lobster¨ open-fired, causing four men to die instantly while injuring six others. One of the four men was a former slave, Crispus Attucks, for he is considered a patriot and the first African American hero. Paul Revere sold his print to stir up feelings between the British government and the colonies. Immediately, the soldiers were given a trial in America for the shootings. Their captain was found not guilty in the death of five men. In a separate trial, out of the eight, only six were also found not guilty and two were found guilty of manslaughter. …show more content…
During that time, many people protested because of how President Nixon extended the Vietnam War into Cambodia and needed to draft more U.S. Troops. The National Guard members fired into the crowd and instantly killing 4 students, while nine other students were injured. In both situations, they had to bring authorities to try and maintain order. The Redcoats and the National Guard members were not welcomed by the crowds but were insulted continually. Because of being unwelcomed, led to the tragic shootings of innocent lives. The students at Kent demonstrated a strong objection of treatment by their own country. However, the Boston citizens were also objecting because of treatment from another
