Why Boycott Israel?
Why would people want to boycott a nation that has helped nations around the world to advance tremendously? There is a politically motivated majority within the United Nations driving to boycott Israel. Mixing political goals with scientific pursuits undermine the positive role improving the lives of citizens everywhere, and in promoting cooperation among nations despite their political differences (Leshner, Alan). Scientific inquiries and international research must be set apart from political conflicts, in a neutral, academic realm where political differences are set aside to promote the welfare of a nation. The current boycott discussions work against the nature of an inclusive and collaborative science enterprise and should immediately be abandoned. (Leshner, Alan) If you are going to boycott Israel, then you will have to get rid of your everyday resources and put your life in harm’s way.
