There was no exact time when they know for sure that Bundy had committed his first murder, but there are claims that he started as early as 1961 at only 14 years old. But the first case on record was in 1974, shortly after ending it with Brooks he went into a basement of dancer at UW named Karen Spark who was only 18 and took a metal rod off of her bed frame and beat the woman senseless and then sexually assaulted her with the rod causing extremely life threatening internal injuries, she woke up 10 days later out of a coma and recovered with permanent damage. Less than a month later on February 1st, 1974 he broke into the basement of Lynda Ann Healy, who did the morning broadcast show for skiers, and beat her unconscious, then dressed her …show more content…
It was at this time that the police really started to pick up their game because the pressure was mounting on their shoulders to find this guy. It was when Bundy kidnapped 2 girls in broad daylight at a lake that the police were finally able to get a good, full description of what Bundy looked like. The police put up fliers everywhere to notify the community and were receiving over 200 tips per day so it was very rare that Bundy would ever be included in that mix because he was a clean cut law student. Bundy was then accepted into law school over in Salt Lake City Utah whe he began kidnapping girls there too the first one was the daughter's police chief and the second was just an average 17 year old high school student. Bundy raped both of these women, sodomized them and strangled them with their nylon stockings in the middle of the woods so no one could hear them scream. Bundy then started to describe himself to his victims as Officer Roseland and ask them if he could take them back to the station for questioning. Elizabeth Kloepfer started to catch on that it was Bundy committing the crimes and tried calling the police department twice but no one would even look into
