Burmese Pythons can grow up to 23 feet and 200 pounds. The species are changing the Florida Everglades in many different ways. The snakes are changing local animals, people, and the Everglades’ ecosystem. All of these factors are causing Burmese Pythons to become much more invasive. To begin with, the snakes are changing the local animals around them. The snakes are very invasive. They take control of other animal’s land and then eat the animals living there. The abnormal snakes first bite their prey, then they wrap their whole body around it and finally swallows it whole. People need to be notified everywhere, even metropolises. People are uncertain that when the snakes kill all of the smaller animals, they will start eating larger animals like deer. They could possibly start to eat people too. Some people are flabbergasted at the idea of this. It states in source 2, “With no natural predators, these eating machines appear to be wiping out huge numbers of opossums, raccoons, and bobcats, as well as many bird species.” Lots of animals could die out, leading to the final reason. Finally, the snakes could change the environment. After eating lots of smaller animals, the other animals living in the Everglades have nothing to eat. They are either going to die from starvation or the snakes will eat them. In source 2 it states, “A growing population of Burmese Pythons---many pets turned loose by their owners when they became too big---is threatening the ecosystem of Florida’s Everglades.” The more snakes are let loose, the more our ecosystem will be destroyed. Man is the only predator to the Burmese Python.
As you can see, the Burmese Python is changing the Florida Everglades very much. The snakes are changing the local animals, people, and the ecosystem. Help save the Everglades. Let’s get rid of the potential that these vicious snakes have to annihilate the home of many
