Named after Asa Danforth, The Danforth is a neighbourhood located in the city of Toronto, acting as a major settlement area for Greek immigrants soon after the first world war. As the largest Greek neighbourhood in North America, the region is well known for its abundance of turn of the century architecture dating back to 1910, many theatrical shows, and welcoming atmosphere. Most of all, however, The Danforth is known for its 350+ Greek shops and restaurants, which provide an enjoyable experience for all visitors. The neighbourhood is also home to Canada’s largest street festival, where it draws in 1.6 million attendees each year, providing them a memorable experience of activities, music, and most notably, food.
