Censorship:How, Why, Why Not, The Effect Of A look into the library shows many shelves of books. There is rows upon rows upon rows of shelves. And in these shelves are rows upon rows upon rows of books. There are books of many different time periods, authors, styles, genres, etc. There are also books of many different topics and many books that are considered classics. As one would look for these classics, or for books that are about something that is seen as controversial, they may not find them. As to why someone would be unable to find these books, that may contain sexual content, offensive language, and controversial topics such as; homosexuality, race, religion, slavery,etc., they would find that they had been banned. Although books such as Of Mice and Men and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, are considered classics, they could be …show more content…
What censorship does is it makes people such as students and teachers unaware of these opportunities to learn and teach. Why censorship is used, is because it is used to try to protect people from what others think they shouldn’t learned. Censorship is also used to create harsh boundaries on the opportunities people can choose. These boundaries are created because of the things that are deemed inappropriate such as sexual content, offensive language, and controversial topics. One would be for censorship because it would provide a place where people would be unexposed to certain things that a seen as unwanted, even though there is already access to topics that a deemed to be censored. But there shouldn’t be censorship due to the growth no censorship can create. No censorship would allow people such as students to be open to new ideas and opportunities. Censorship also has a great affect on students and or teachers, with the lack to expand and grow because of censorship. In conclusion, there should be a day where one can find a book, not due to what is thought’ to be
