One standard of conduct for APRN’s that James violated was that he did not hold a current up to date certification to practice as an APN. Therefore, he was not eligible to practice in the state of Massachusetts because he did not have a valid license (www.mass.gov). James also violated the standard of conduct that “a nurse who has an effective license shall notify the Board in writing within 30 days of any change of his or her name, address of record, or Social Security number” (www.mass.gov). By leaving the facility as an APRN so abruptly, he violated the code that’s states “a nurse licensed by the Board shall not abuse, neglect, mistreat, abandon, or otherwise harm a patient”
