Actors are some of the main forces driving our entertainment today. Making five million dollars a movie, fifty thousand dollars an episode, and five hundred and fifty dollars a commercial, these talented people portray different characters and the character’s stories. Actors work hundreds of hours during each month to make digital productions that are seen internationally. They travel to sets in different regions of the world and get to experience different cultures. Actors also have to portray different genres and may have to act out different talents. In regardless to all of the money they make and the fame, actors are challenged with regulating their health, managing their training and time, and listening to the negativity from media.

Author and actress, Taraji P. Henson, is a single mother of her son, Marcel Johnson. She reveals her struggle in an interview with ChicagoSunTimes that in one occasion, she had to move into “Single Mom Hustle Mode”. It is very tough for single parent actors to balance their career and their family needs. Not all adult actors are “perfect families” (15). Though some remain untold, a number of entertainers experience many losses and have to handle life’s experiences alone. The performing arts industry is tough for all actors and limits their time with their family. The actress, along with many other performers, feel like the entertainment world is insane; that these people are being treated as if they are inhuman. Fans come around invading their personal time and space to take pictures and asking for autographs when the star just wants to feel that a regular person. They do not like the special treatment. English actor Daniel Craig shared his experience at a restaurant with an interviewer for VH1 News and said that he hated getting his picture taken while he was eating and “wanted to get violent”, but couldn’t (17).
American actress, Shailene Woodley, agrees with the actor when saying that she is also not a big fan of the fact that the more money you make, the more “free stuff” that you get (17). These actors do not agree with the special treatment that they receive when being famous, which is the exact idea that Woodley believes is the problem, the labels. In the same interview, the actress stresses her hate for the words “famous”, “celebrity” and “star” (17). She believes that those words are the real profanity in our society, and the media does not help with this
