The labor union was extremely frustrated with the government for its participation in the terrible conditions. The conditions that are spoken of are, long hours, low wages and unsafe environments. There have been riots and strikes to gain additional rights, so workers are treated better. Up until Roosevelt's administration, there was really no idea how the United States was going to escape this predicament. While it might be believed that not much changed for the workers in large scale businesses while Roosevelt was president, in actuality Roosevelt had increased support for them and implemented policies to protect them.
