Both of the children have faced the consequences of an insecure child-parent attachment. The children have faced multiple changes in their early years of development, which can be difficult to process and to cope with. The effects of separation and placement on child’s cognitive development is that they do not understand change, they only feel it. This is why changes and unfamiliar sensory experiences frighten them. Especially, for Martin as he has not felt an attachment bond with his mother. Mary reports leaving Martin with friends and neighbors during first ten months of his life and not feeling close to him. Also, Martin has been placed in three foster homes and his current foster family reports that when first admitted to their care, he
