Islam and Christianity are two of the largest religions in the world that have strong beliefs with some similarities and differences. Christianity and Islam both believe in moral living and doing well to others, not to mention they also have very own points of ideology and theology. Both of these religions believe in one God, the Islam religion believes in Allah while the Christianity religion believes in Jesus Christ. In fact, Islam believes that Jesus was just a prophet and not a God. “Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God, which as the Jews accused of old, makes Him equal to God. (Religion).” This shows that both of these religions have their own perspective on Jesus Christ. Both of these religions believe that their inheritance came from Judaism and that one God created the world. These religions do have similarities but their differences of their Gods prove that they have strong beliefs. A major difference between Christianity and Islam is their major sacred rituals or practices. Christianity has baptism and communion has a major practice and Islam has the five pillars as a sacred ritual. …show more content…
The Islamic community hold their practices in a mosque which was founded by Muhammed. “Alternatively, some prefer to think of the Ka’bah in Mecca as the first mosque in the sense that Muhammed and his followers prayed there during the years prior to the Hijra (Gwynne 322).” Muhammed and his followers prayed constantly and some of the community prayed in private homes. Two main types of mosques can be distinguished; Masjid Jami or a collective mosque, which is a large state-controlled mosque that is the center of community worship (Britannica).
