Christopher McCandless was born on February 12, 1968, and he died on August 1992. He attended Emory University, he grew up with a good family who had a high economic status. After graduating from college Christopher decide to go into the wilderness he wanted to live off the land. McCandless walked alone into the wilderness north of Mt. McKinley. Christopher spent two years of his life traveling around the country, he made this decision for the reason that he wanted to be free from the expectations that society tend to focus on. Christopher was a brave person because there are a few people who would have the courage to go into the wilderness without a map, with just a little of food, and also he didn’t let anyone know about him. Christopher had a totally different expectation about the wilderness he was inspired by the books he tends to read, he had in his mind that he would be able to survive into the wild. Most of McCandless action can be described as rebellious, young people of his age tend to be rebellious who think that they can move the world with just one finger, but life is not that easy as McCandless thought his life in the wild was going to be full beauty and it was beautiful till his food ended and till he notice that it would be a challenge to get out from the wilderness. Some people believe that Chris actions were selfish because of what the cause to his family, some people have a specific question which is “why would someone hurt their family in the worst day?” which I truly disagree I believe that McCandless did not plan to hurt his family, his intentions were just to be free from society, but he didn't want to see his sister and his mother
