Coco Palms The Coco Palms is a beautiful Cuban resort themed restaurant located on a low mountain coast in the city of Pomona. I was introduced to this place by my father and we attended not too long ago. As we drove thru the mountains to approach the Coco Palm, you can already feel the vibe of being welcomed. When you first walk in the gates, you will notice an outside dining area separated from the indoor restaurant. The outdoor dining area is provided with a beautiful view of Southern California city life with a background of great mountain scenery. Of course, since the sun was falling and it was a bit of a breeze outside, we chose to sit in the inside dining area. Once we entered the indoor facility, we instantly noticed the soothing, welcoming sounds of Cuban guitarist and singers performing their Cuban influenced tunes. It was not too long before we got seated, and the waitresses were quick to take our orders. They came in with silky like button-up tops and greeted us in such a respectful manner. It was very rich in taste and seasoned to the T. With its creamy Caesar dressing, it kind of gave it a Greek inspired taste. It was unlike something I’ve ever had before. For my entrée I decided to go with the grilled salmon dish. I would recommend this dish to anyone who seems to find interest in the Coco Palms. The salmon had a very light texture and was seasoned perfectly. The char from the grill gave it a nice smoky taste that went with the white wine sauce it was served with placed at the bottom of the plate. The grilled salmon dish also came with two succulent jumbo scallops, a portion of yellow Cuban rice, and a couple of fried Cuban style plantain.
