In 2011 the state of Wisconsin passed a collective bargaining bill, which is also known as the Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill. According to Wisconsin State Journal, “Five years ago today, Republican Gov. Scott Walker introduced legislation that would effectively end collective bargaining for public employees and unmoor Wisconsin from its progressive roots”(Wisconsin State Journal).
This bill was recommended by Governor Scott Walker who was a republican. The bill was then passed by the Wisconsin legislature and talked about a calculated $3.6 billion budget shortage.
