The lack of symphonies written by Beethoven versus Mozart and Haydn cannot be compared because they each had their own style of writing. Each classical artist was working in different musical periods, different countries and even under different kinds of endorsements. Mozart and Haydn might’ve written more symphonies but Beethoven’s were much longer than compared to the other composers and each of his symphonies built up the next. He did however briefly study with Mozart in his teenage years and also studied with Haydn for less than a year after his father died.
