In Mother to Son, the mom tells him to push through even if it is hard. But, in “If This World Is Mine” the mother is showing the same thing the mother in Mother to Son is telling the young boy. If The World Was Mine, the mother is telling the baby that the world isn’t going to get anymore easier than it is now. I think, that both mother are teaching a lesson to their children because you are not going to be a child forever so they are showing that in the real world people aren’t going to take care of you. Both, authors I think spoke from what happened in their real life. Most people should be like this in their child’s life because, you do not want them to grow up and be reckless.
