Compared to the narrator and the events of “Strawberry Spring,” we “re-establish our feelings of essential normality” (King, “Why We Crave” 1). When you compare your life to how the characters in the movie are living theirs, the difference is unprecedented. For example, King talks about how we may not look like Supermodels, but at least “We are still light-years from true ugliness” (King, “Why We Crave” 1). We all might want to be on the front cover of People’s Magazine, however we should be thankful that we don’t look like a demonic nun.
