What is the American Dream? I think that people want peace and freedom above all else that is the American Dream. The American Dream is when everyone is working together to find peace. In Raisin in the Sun, people want to be treated as equals; that is their American Dream. In The Great Gatsby, the American Dream is to rise to the top of society.
