In “Noah Count and the Arkansas Ark” The author Gary Blackwood demonstrates the value of education by showing that the Appletons family was not very educated; however, the son was. When the grandma started saying things like, “A cat a snizzin’ always means rain”, the son told her that it was nothing but tales and had nothing to do with science. However, throughout the story, the son thinks that he is smarter than his family, but he will stand up for his family when talked about, and learns a valuable lesson about education and how many types there are. In paragraph seven the son is telling the grandma that she is talking silly and what she is saying has nothing to do with the science of it all. The son also states “I’ve been going to school
