In the novel written by Orson Scott Card, Ender’s Game, the theme of conformity is touched on in many sections of the book. Many thematic statements can be pulled from this overarching theme. One of the thematic statements that can be pulled from the novel is “People may want to conform for many reasons some of which may include, to fit in with others, self preservation, and to escape conformity".
The first reason that people may want to conform is “to fit in with others”. In Ender’s Game the main character,Ender, attempts to fit in with others in certain parts of the book. An instance of this in the novel is when Ender got his monitor removed. He hoped that since he would be like everyone else he wouldn't be hated by his brother Peter.
