Gentrification and Crime

Crime is an action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by the state and is punishable by law. Crime is prevalent in cities more than any other environment due to the density of the population. To lower crime rates, the city has done things such as increased police patrols, and gentrification. Gentrification does not directly stop crime however it plays a large part in helping lower crime rates. Gentrification allows for more resources to be allocated to those poorer neighborhoods which has many benefits, and while not all good, the cons of gentrification can be explained; gentrification is progress for those areas that do not seem to be moving forward.
