By examining Crooks and Curley’s wife,the reader can see they are both mistreated by and isolated from the people on the ranch.This is important because it turns people sad and hurt and it shows how people felt in that time period.
In Of Mice And Men Crooks is unfairly labeled a monster and it's shown through his innocence and isolation.In chapter 4, the author was describing Crooks and said “his body was bent over to the left by his crooked spine, and his eyes lay deep in his head”(Steinbeck 66). Also in chapter 5, Curley’s wife was confiding in Lennie and said “Coulda been in the movies, an’ had nice clothes…. an’ I coulda sat in the big hotels an’ had pitchers took of me”(Steinbeck 89). This quote shows her innocence because she it shows she feels lost and never got what she wanted.
