The movie Roxanne is an accurate representation of the play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand. Although there are some notable differences, most of the movie is as close to the play as possible. Without much prior knowledge of Cyrano, I wasn’t sure what to expect seeing such an old play being converted into a movie that is, to me, fairly old. I expected there to be a lot of dated things without much excitement. This movie proved me wrong. To begin, I enjoyed a large majority of the movie. Overall I can say that I did enjoy reading Cyrano de Bergerac and then watching the movie Roxanne. It was interesting and had a plot that kept you guessing as to who was going to end up with Roxanne. Their endings were different, but I enjoyed them both just the same. I would give this movie four out of five stars if I had the authority to do
