Dear environmentalists who are against the Dakota Access Pipeline,

I want to understand why you are protesting something that could in all reality benefit the United States of America. I believe strongly that your hostility against this act is very demoralizing and misconstrued. You say that it is infringing on the Standing Rock Sioux reservation when in fact it never crosses into the reservation. Also, a fact is that the Sioux Indians on the reservation have been working with constructors to avoid any problems with sacred grounds or artifacts. The United States Army Corps of Engineering have held three hundred and eighty-nine meetings with over fifty-five tribal organizations to make sure everything is understood and that everyone is on

I believe that these misconceptions that you are spreading are causing the problems and time delay of these acts that could help this nation. I hope that you take into consideration to what these pipelines could do for American people. Environmentalists need to realize that these pipelines would boost our economy, open up many jobs, and are more safe than other methods of transporting oil. I fully understand that not every person who protests supports violence but it usually comes with these types of environmentalist protests. Riots broke out when protesters set fires and the fire departments could not get through to subdue them. This caused the sheriff’s department to take action and ordered the fire department to spray the crowd. This caused many protesters to raise their aggression and some of them even attacked an officer. In the end, a number of protesters were injured along with some police officers. I, once again, want to state my disappointment in how people are so closed minded and do not take the time to research a problem before going out and pointing fingers and say that people who are just doing their job are damaging land. It is private land that is owned by people who consented to the construction. I am also deeply saddened about how some people know the facts but choose to ignore them and continually spread deceitful opinions. To reiterate, I believe in freedom of speech and the freedom to protest. However, when these protests damage a mentality over something that could help this nation, it
